CJ Alvarez-Burdette
Paramedic

CJ is a paramedic with over 25 years of experience in public safety. She obtained certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in Wilmington, N.C. many years ago after witnessing a horrific traffic accident involving a young teen. She felt helpless and knew after watching the paramedics at the scene that she wanted to learn how to help.

CJ began volunteering with Fort Mill Rescue in 1996. She later moved on to pursue a career in Emergency Medical Services. She obtained her paramedic certification from Midlands Technical College and worked for Piedmont Medical Center EMS for 20 years, 10 of those in management. She left the corporate environment and found her way back to Fort Mill EMS 2 years ago. She is delighted to return to her roots and serve the community again.

CJ holds numerous career related medical and technical credentials. She also attended the highly recognized UNCC Management Institute for EMS.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Thomas and her 5 dogs. She is the mother of 2 grown sons, Jacob and Joshua and is an avid football fan…Go Gamecocks!

Rebecca began in EMS as an EMT in college in 1996. She also served as an EMT and participated in training missions with the base fire department while serving as a combat photographer in the Air Force. Upon college graduation, Rebecca worked in corporate America for several years as an auto insurance claims specialist. Her experience in EMS helped greatly with evaluating and compensating bodily injury claims during that time. Rebecca left the corporate world and the Air Force Reserves in 2003 to become a full-time mom. Rebecca's journey in EMS is coming full circle; in 2016, she re-certified as an EMT. She completed paramedic school in 2017 and is a paramedic as of January 2018.

In addition to working at Fort Mill EMS, Rebecca is a homeschool mom to two busy teenagers, Alex and Olivia. She is also a certified yoga therapist and teaches yoga at local studios as her schedule allows. When she is not working, teaching, or driving the kiddos to all of their activities, you might find Rebecca either running the trails, on her yoga mat, or playing music and relaxing with her husband Patrick.

Stephanie White

PRN

Nationally registered Paramedic since 2009. I have worked for Fort Mill Rescue since January of 2011 and love my involvement with the agency. I also teach a course at York Tech called "Responding to Emergencies" since 2012. I'm a CPR instructor as well. In addition to performing paramedic skills, I am also certified to drive and operate the ambulance. It has been my pleasure to serve the community with Fort Mill EMS and I am grateful for the opportunity to help those in need of our services. In addition to my career with Fort Mill, it has been a lot of fun working with new members of the squad that are interested in EMS as we work with them on developing their base skill set to prepare them for school. So many people have started their EMS careers right here with Fort Mill Rescue and it has been rewarding to be apart of the new generation of EMS providers. When I am not working, I train and compete in Ultra Marathons...100+ mile competitions!
